Simply put, Inhuman Relations is a slice-of-life comic strip about a bunch of characters living in the Greater Atlantic City area of southern New Jersey. It is drawn by some loser whose life somewhat mirrors this setup.

If you find yourself wandering through the archives unsure of who is saying what to whom and why, here is a field guide to the aforementioned bunch of characters:

Fred

Fred lives in a shack in the New Jersey pine barrens, drives a junker car that habitually breaks down, and has few friends and relations. He is therefore an ideal protagonist for a penny-ante internet comic strip such as this.

Maureen

Maureen (alternatively "Mo", "Reeny" and "Maria", depending on who you ask) hails from the storied land of Lebanon, though she's fully embraced the American way of life, particularly its vast library of grade-z horror and exploitation movies. Lives with her mother in a dilapidated postwar housing development somewhere in the Greater Atlantic City Metropolitan Area.

Fred's best pal since childhood. Formerly the owner of a neighborhood bar, where he knew all of his customers by name ... especially since his only customer was Fred.
